The Perception of Limitations

limits

As my business grows and evolves, I constantly make tweaks and changes to ensure that I am doing what I love and that everything flows smoothly energetically. When I noticed recently that there were many people struggling financially it caused me to review my pricing. Am I still congruent with my fees? Are they too much for people to afford? And when I asked for guidance on this, I received a clear and simple message from my guides: Don’t limit yourself because you see limitation in others.

It made me think about how we often do this in so many areas of our lives. We make ourselves less than we truly are. We forget that while there are many who struggle financially there are also many who have wealth and abundance. When we focus on what people lack, we lower our vibration to match them instead of being who we are and listening to our own awareness. The energy of us being who we are is what inspires others to rise up and go beyond their struggles and limitations.

This doesn’t mean that we can’t help other people, it means to be aware of when we compromise ourselves to accommodate them. When we help someone from a place of simply being a contribution without the need to rescue them, we can empower others to live more fulfilling and abundant lives.

Take a moment to consider where you limit yourself based on those around you. What would it take for you to change this? Are you willing to go beyond their limitations and shine your light in the world? The time is now to facilitate change on the planet. If you are reading this, you know that you came here for a reason. You came to inspire others, to lead the way to a new era of consciousness, and to bring about a world that lives in greater peace, awareness and harmony.

It takes each one of us as individuals contributing to the whole in our own unique way to create the changes we desire to bring about on this planet. To do that we must be true to ourselves and in so doing we will attract the people and circumstances that resonate with that higher vibration and become the beacon that guides and inspires others to do the same.

Shine your light and heed the wisdom of my guides: don’t limit yourself because you see limitation in others.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

You Didn’t Come Here to be Mediocre

dance4a

Are you a “spiritual seeker”? Do you wonder who you are and why you are here? Are you searching for a deeper meaning to life? Do you want to serve others and make a difference in the world?

Every day, I work with people who are just like you. Many are introverted, loners and energy sensitives who feel that they don’t fit in and struggle to find love and fulfilment. They see their friends having relationships, getting married, starting families, looking secure and happy – and on the surface it looks like perfection. Other people’s lives seem simpler, they don’t appear to have the inner turmoil, they don’t question everything like you do. Sounds like bliss, right?

Yet, if you are honest with yourself, you don’t really want what they have. You didn’t come here to be mediocre. You came to change consciousness on the planet. You are a divine expression of God/Creator and what you think you lack (that you see in people around you), cannot be found in another person or an acquisition. When you come to a place within where you have deep compassion for yourself, where you have walked through your own personal valley of shadows and have gained the awareness of who you are, will you know your truth. Then you create the space for deep soul connections, friendships that are honouring and supportive, and work that inspires your passion and joy.

The path is internal and the fulfilment you desire is but a breath away. It requires that you let go of the inner struggle and accept yourself as you are. It requires that you release the beliefs, thoughts, patterns, judgements and limitations that are not yours, and be you.

You may not feel that your role in life is as substantial or important as people like Mother Theresa or Nelson Mandela, and you may not receive awards and accolades for the challenges you overcome, but when you are ready to let go of the societal image of what your life should be like and start living the life you came here to live, you become a beacon of light to others shining out through the fabric of time and space and guiding humanity to a better place.

Never doubt the impact that one person can have. Never doubt your impact.

When you feel alone and disconnected from the world, remember that is an illusion. You are a divine being, at one with the entire universe. It’s impossible for you to truly be alone. Take a deep breath, expand your awareness out beyond your body and into the entire universe. Feel your connection to God/Creator, ask your guides and angelic team to come closer so you can sense them. Ask them to send you love and remind you why you are here. Breathe. Smile. Let your heart be filled as you walk your path each day. You are not alone.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

Clear your Energy for better Health and Wellbeing

hands above head turned sunset

Now more than ever in Earth’s history we face a plethora of energies and man-made frequencies that bombard our energy fields daily. If we look back hundreds of years, we didn’t have this; life was very slow paced, we walked or perhaps rode horses taking weeks or even months to reach a destination. If we look back many thousands of years, we were more in tune with nature and there was greater focus on meeting our daily survival needs rather than who’s the latest reality TV show star.

It’s a changing world and our physical biology has had to adapt to this influx of energies and frequencies that some say our physical bodies were not designed to deal with because our lives are now evolving so quickly. We are flooded with information and constant pressures with less and less time for contemplation and to rejuvenate our body’s systems.

It’s time to recognise how much our energy fields are impacted by all this, not to cause worry or fear, but to see how vital it is that we take a moment to clear our energy to create greater health and wellbeing. This energetic rebalancing also takes place organically as we expand our consciousness and we start to become more aware of energy and how to clear or transform it very quickly – probably much faster than we were capable of thousands of years ago.

When I’m in a shopping centre I see the hustle and bustle of bodies around me as well as sensing the energetic layers beyond the physical. I usually go to this type of place very early in the morning because it’s energetically kinder to me when there are less people. Today, circumstances required me to go later so it was much busier. I could sense how people felt, their judgements, their ailments and the energies that they carry around with them. And yes, as an intuitive healer I am very aware of these energies, but it’s important for you to know that we ALL do this to some extent. It’s just that most people have learned to ignore the subtle language of energy. If people realised how much they take on from others they would be quite astounded.

I truly believe that if everyone learned how to clear their own energy just by doing some basic daily releasing there would be significantly less pain and suffering on the planet.

I’ve recorded a simple energy clearing exercise for you here:

The Lie of Alcohol and Drugs

addiction

I woke up with a song in my head this morning, and this is unusual because I don’t listen to the radio or watch TV so when a song lands in my head it’s for a reason – it’s giving me a message. The song was Young, Wild and Free by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dog. The lyrics go like this:

So what we get drunk
So what we smoke weed
We’re just having fun
We don’t care who sees
So what we go out
That’s how it’s supposed to be
Living young and wild and free

As it played over and over in my head I pondered the song’s message and how it impacts the youth of today. The song suggests that being drunk or stoned is a path to freedom and fun, and it’s ok because you’re young, (and it’s one of many songs/movies with this theme). Our society certainly glorifies this type of behaviour – you’re just having fun with your mates, you’re a stick in the mud if you don’t join in, a few drinks won’t hurt, I just want to chill out for a while.

Is this behaviour really about freedom and fun or have we been sold an insidious lie?

I used alcohol and drugs in my teens and twenties to try to hide severe self-esteem issues, to block out the inner torment I felt and to avoid dealing with my emotions. I didn’t know this at the time, of course, I was just “living young and wild and free”. In truth, I was living “unconsciously”.

Through my healing work I have met many people with addictions and substance abuse issues and there are some common underlying patterns and beliefs associated with them. Here’s a few as an example:

Alcohol: Emotional insecurity often due to a love/hate relationship with your parents, perhaps loving them but hating something they’ve done. Alcohol is a way to self-medicate to deal with stress and problems. (This stress response comes from stressful childhood situations during the formative years when the brain is learning how to cope with stress and there are not healthy examples or support in the child’s environment, so they are forced to find their own coping methods which are often based on what they see around them.) There is often a sense of feeling devalued, undeserving and a fear of growing up and taking responsibility for yourself because being an adult seems painful.

Marijuana: Emotional insecurity once again, along with a desperate need to feel safe possibly stemming from emotional or physical abuse in childhood. Unhealthy environments feel familiar and become your comfort zone. Fear of success can be relevant here too, perhaps because past success came at a price or was not encouraged or supported.

Cocaine: A need for attention and to be in the limelight. There’s an underlying need to be acknowledged by your parents, you may have been ignored or “seen and not heard” as a child and you are still striving to perform for them. It can also be trying to escape the fact that life isn’t going the way you would like.

Crystal Meth: Suppressed anger, low self-esteem, lack of control related to violent tendencies whether real or imagined. You don’t want to listen to anyone else and this drug makes you feel unique and special. There’s a lack of self-love and love from others because you perceive love as destructive. Fear of being vulnerable, paranoid about how others perceive you.

This list is a generality to offer a glimpse of a few underlying patterns related to drug and alcohol abuse. There are many other factors including things like birth trauma, and ancestral and past life energies and even the way the brain has evolved to repeat past patterns so that it can avoid pain and induce pleasure. Plus, I have found that many addicts are super sensitive to the energies of people around them and can be like sponges for other people’s emotions which they find overwhelming to deal with.

All of this is playing out at a subconscious level so many addicts go about their lives completely unaware, and those who do attempt to change their circumstance often end up failing because they use the conscious mind to try to force themselves to abstain, so the subconscious programming kicks in and starts an internal war, in which the subconscious mind always wins!

So, do drugs and alcohol really make you young and wild and free? Or do they create an illusion of happiness under which lies a dark and seductive prison. They may have provided a coping mechanism that probably seemed like the only option at first, but it soon takes over and sucks every last shred of joy and happiness out of your life, diminishing who you are and laying waste to the true potential that you have to offer the world.

The good news is that these underlying patterns can be changed. I have changed them within myself and my clients. You can be young and wild and free in ways that are healthy and joyful and expand your heart and soul because you feel happy to be alive. You learn that you are a valuable contribution to society just through being you and shining your light in the world. You will find that your life has purpose and meaning and you are fully supported by the universe.

For those struggling with addiction, this may seem like a distant dream, but when you start to take responsibility for where you are right now and choose to become more conscious and aware you can start the process of healing and turn your life around.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

Four Important Steps to Living with Purpose

shutterstock_189332474

I’m sure most of you have, at some point, posed the question, “What is my purpose in life?” and as a Tarot Reader and Healer, it’s a common question I am asked by clients. When we think about finding our purpose what we are really wanting is to feel connected to who we are and to shine our unique light in the world to help make it a better place, so we feel fulfilled at a core level. For many people, however, it becomes a mental activity to discover what will bring about this sense of connection and fulfilment.

In truth, it’s not about your job, your social status, how much money you have, what you are supposed to be studying or what others expect of you.

The REAL purpose of life is to BE YOU

You are a unique expression of God/source/creator and have the freewill to use your gifts and talents to contribute to others and make a difference in the world in any way you choose. And it’s ok if you think you don’t know what those gifts and talents are yet because discovering your purpose is a journey not a destination. It’s a gentle unfolding as you become more congruent with who you are, and less involved with life’s dramas and stories and the expectations of others.

It’s all about who you BE

It’s about your unique energy and who you are as an infinite being. No matter what you do, you just have to show up and be the best version of you possible – that’s what contributes to other people and fills your heart and lights up your soul.

Seeking Your Life Purpose

Many people spend a lot of time trying to “figure out” what their purpose is which often leads to frustration and feeling not good enough. The key here is that you can’t THINK your way to your purpose – it doesn’t work that way. The brain will never figure it out because it’s not about logic, it’s about being in alignment with who you are and that comes from your soul.

SEEKING your purpose becomes a distraction,

living WITH purpose creates forward momentum.

When you stop seeking your purpose and start living with purpose life will begin to flow because this is a direct invitation to the universe to support you which will open up new and exciting possibilities that lead to a more fulfilling life.

Four Steps for Living with Purpose

1. Follow your Curiosity – do things you love, things that bring you joy, things that you are curious about and want to learn more about even if it is something very small or seemingly insignificant. Read books, use the internet, buy magazines, attend seminars or workshops, talk to people and do whatever it takes to learn more or involve yourself in whatever intrigues you. You never know where it will lead and if you are following your joy and your curiosity it is guaranteed to be beyond your imagination – and you’ll have fun along the way.

2. Ask Questions – Ask and you shall receive as the saying goes. When you ask questions you are asking the universe to support you. You are not trying to find answers, this is another futile mind game. You are opening up energy and creating possibilities. “What” questions like the ones below are more empowering and the best to get you started. Ask the Universe (as often as you can):

  • What else is possible?
  • What would it take to change this?
  • What would it take to _________? (Have more joy in my life? Have more ease in my life? Have more fulfilling relationships? Etc)

3. Be the Contribution – Show up every day 100% as you and allow your energy and who you are to contribute to others and the world. (You don’t have to know the specifics of how this happens. When you wake up each morning just ask: What contribution can I be today?

So instead of saying “I have to find my life purpose” or “Why am I here?” or “What am I supposed to be doing?” you just show up and BE YOU. Your energy contributes to everything you do and everyone you meet. This creates more ease and flow, you are no longer in a space of lack. Then the magic begins!

It’s important with this step to not TRY to do anything, you don’t have to work at this. Just ask the question and let the universe take care of the rest.

4. Create a Life Vision – This step is vital because if you don’t know where you want to go neither does the universe. It awaits your command. So, consider what would you like your life to look like, how would you like to feel each day, what values are important to you?

Even if you don’t know the specifics, just get a sense of the general direction, otherwise you will end up going around in circles.

Creating a life vision offers the potential for new possibilities. It brings hope and it’s an invitation for the universe to support you.

Vision Ball exercise

  1. Get the energy of what you would like your life to be like. You can add in specific things but if you aren’t sure what they are just get the feel of it. Eg. There may be happiness, joy, love, adventure, travel, helping others, a home etc.
  2. Imagine this energy in ball in front of your heart.
  3. Pull in energy from the universe into this ball. Pull more and more, from all over the universe. Keep pulling for a few minutes so you energise everything.
  4. Then allow little streams of energy to flow from this energy ball out to anyone and anything that will contribute to your creation. Keep pulling energy in as you trickle it out for a minute.
  5. Do this weekly and notice when something shows up that has the same energy as your energy ball. One small seemingly unrelated step could lead you somewhere great. Always follow the energy.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

Will you React or will you Release?

body

When we face difficult circumstances in life there is often a tendency to buy into the “story” instead of recognising the opportunity to gain new awareness.

Your car might break down or you have an argument with someone, you end a relationship or you just feel overwhelmed by everything going on in your life. No matter what the circumstances instead of reacting, you can effect change.

Many people dive into the drama and see themselves as victims, blame others and expect everyone to feel sorry for them. You don’t have to do this. If you stop and look at what occurred and ask yourself what deeper wisdom is available you will see things differently.

Ask – What is actually right about this situation? What message is it giving you? What do you need to know?

Perhaps your car breaking down is a message about getting clearer about your direction and purpose in life. Perhaps an argument with someone allows you to look more closely at yourself and see where you are reacting to other people based on past hurts, regrets or resentments. Perhaps the end of a relationship shows you that it’s time to take care of you and find a relationship that is more honouring.

Underneath what happens on the surface there is always a stuck energy, a belief system or an old pattern that wants to be released – and if you start recognising this you can change your whole life.

As you think about your problem or issue try the following:

Let go of the story – the details of who did what do whom are irrelevant. Instead, sit with the energy and notice where you feel it in your body. Expand your energy out and lower all your barriers. Let go of anything that no longer serves you. Keep expanding out further and further, beyond the universe.

Breathe deeply into your belly. Breathe in life giving energy, breath out anything that is old and stuck and not yours. Breathe and expand.

Keep doing this until the energy starts to dissipate. It may take a minute or two, it may take much longer. Be willing to sit with the energy and be present with it for as long as it takes. As you acknowledge it and allow it to release it can no longer be stuck and this changes what you attract to you in the future.

There are many ways to release energy and this simple method is something that anyone can do at any time.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

What Is Your Body Trying To Tell You?

body-pain

What does that pain in your shoulder mean? Why does your back ache? Why do you get headaches or viruses or dis-ease?

The body is a remarkable organism that performs myriad functions in every moment to keep us breathing, releasing toxins, assimilating food, absorbing nutrients and so on. This all happens without us giving it a second thought – unless something interrupts the balance and we experience pain or dis-function in some area.

The body is never attacking you, it never lets you down and it never fails you. It is always doing its best to maintain homeostasis – even if at times it appears otherwise.

As a healer part of my job is to connect with bodies and intuitively interpret these imbalances. I tune in into the consciousness of the cells, sense the energy of the blood, listen to the messages from the bones etc. And I know that every part of the body is doing its best to support you at all times.

Some time ago I attended an Intuitive Anatomy Advanced Theta Healing training and, with Theta being one of my favourite healing modalities, I was in total bliss for three full weeks! Each day we investigated and “spoke with” a different system of the body, the respiratory system, the endocrine system, the skeletal system and so on, and this allowed me to gain an even deeper connection with all aspects of the body.

I saw how light and giggly and joyful the bones are, and how strong and powerful the muscles are, and how rushed and busy the blood is – it didn’t have much time to pause and talk! As I connected with each part of the body it told me something it wanted me to know, and that was “how IT was the most important system in the body”, which after a few days became incredibly funny because of course they are all equally important! That sense of importance came from each part of the body being totally proud of its unique task and its desire to perform its function to the absolute best of its ability.

So with this in mind, why would a body create pain and illness?

Quite simply, it’s the body’s way to give you information and because it doesn’t speak in words (unfortunately) so it gives us subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) messages.

  • The feet may have something to do with your direction in life, feeling stuck or getting cold feet.
  • The legs may speak to moving forward, feeling unsupported and flexibility in life.
  • The shoulders may indicate stress, burdens, responsibilities or lack of joy.
  • A virus can relate to having to fight for what you want in life or feeling attacked.

These imbalances come about because of the underlying belief systems and the thoughts, energies and emotions that we take on as we go about our daily lives. The body tries to bring our awareness to this, however, most people have become very good at ignoring these messages because we are not taught as children to have this level of self-awareness and self-care.

When your body is speaking to you, why not stop and listen – sit quietly, breathe deeply, imagine turning on a switch that gives you access to your full awareness so that you, the infinite being, can be totally present with any imbalance you may have.

Then ask some questions:

  • Body, what do you want me to know?
  • What am I not acknowledging that is causing this?
  • How can I change this?
  • Is this energy mine or someone else’s?
  • What else is possible here?

Just be present in that space and allow any insights and awareness to flow to you, and even if you feel like you’re not getting it, just continue to be present because the insights will come – most often when you least expect it. You are not seeking answers, you are opening up your awareness. There is a difference and one requires hard work and frustration, the other requires total trust in yourself.

Then thank and honour your body for the amazing job it does as each cell goes about its own particular task that keeps you alive. Even when cells appear to go rogue and “attack” the immune system they actually think they are doing the right thing and can be quite shocked to learn otherwise.

Remember, your body always has your back. It responds to the energies and consciousness in your world, and it can help you gain so much insight into your life if you listen to its whispers.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

So you want to be a Healer?

healing 13

Do you ever wonder if you have the ability to heal others? Do you ever wonder what it takes to be a great healer?

My interest in this field began 35 years ago and since that time I have studied more modalities than I can remember. My aim, at first, was to heal myself but very quickly I developed a passion for this work and wanted to share the potential for transformation with others.

I often meet people who would like to be healers and many doubt their own abilities and never go beyond learning a modality and practising on a few friends or family. There’s nothing wrong with this for those who are happy with this level of participation, but for those who would like to go further and help others to heal and make a difference in the world I would like to share a few insights I have learned along the way.

It’s Never about the Modality

Different healing modalities serve different purposes and we are drawn to those we most resonate with at any point in time. I am always amused by people who learn a particular modality and think that their modality is better than any other. In truth, it’s not about the modality; it’s about how YOU show up.

When you are being authentic, when you are present with your client, when you function from a space of no judgement and infinite possibilities you create a space for deep transformation – your modality is just the vehicle that you use. On the other hand, if you function from ego, judgement and conclusion, how much will that limit what is possible in your sessions?

Your healing modality also provides a framework for you to learn and develop your skills and abilities; it allows you to tap into different energies that you are not necessarily aware of in your daily life and you can also connect with like-minded people with whom you can learn and practise.

Over time I have allowed modalities that no longer serve me fall by the wayside and I use those that resonate with who I am now – and I am still learning and growing. However, these days I am more willing to follow the energy instead of following someone else’s guidelines and this is where you really step into your own awareness and brilliance. It’s where you add YOU into what you do.

Here’s a few basic elements that I feel are important to being a great healer:

Be Present

Leave all your garbage at the door and show up fully present for your client. Listen to them with your whole being so that you notice their body language, slight changes in their energy, what they are saying beneath their words, what cues your own body gives you and so on. You can’t do this if you’re busy yapping on about your own issues and stories. A session is not about you, it’s about them. Be present. This creates a space for your client to feel heard (something many people do not have in their own lives) and a space for them to feel safe (which is an invitation for deeper transformation).

No Judgement

Your clients need to know that they will not be judged no matter what they tell you. Judgement is something people experience in daily life (especially self-judgement) and it causes them to put up barriers and shut down parts of themselves for protection. This is not beneficial in a healing session. You want to invite your client into a level of vulnerability that allows deep change, they can do this if they feel fully supported by you.

I have clients who chuckle when they tell me something that they think is awful and I say “Cool! Where do you notice that in your body?” Of course, I am not saying that it’s “cool” that they had a difficult experience. I am saying cool because the client has just identified something they would like to change and now we get to play so that energy can be released. Once it is gone the situation will no longer hold charge for the client. It is also a way to let them know that while I acknowledge their story, I don’t buy it. The story is just the wrapping that covers the underlying energy, if we get caught up in that we never get to the core of the situation. Staying out of judgment is another way to help your client feel free to go wherever they need to go during a session.

Infinite Possibilities

We are infinite beings and therefore we have infinite possibilities available to us – always. This means that anything can be changed; our only limitation is the human mind. The mind wants to try to figure everything out, it wants us to find answers and make conclusions and work hard to get everything right.

The greatest healing takes place when you are willing to be the space of infinite possibilities, to be out of your comfort zone, to be willing to not know what the hell you are doing, to invite the chaos and just follow the energy of whatever comes up.

If you make a conclusion that this person has depression, for example, and you will heal that by doing x,y,z you have limited the possibilities of what can occur. If you follow the energy of what is presented in that session and are willing to ask questions and be curious you open up the possibilities available to you exponentially and healing can take place beyond your imagination.

I don’t think I’ll be good enough

This is the number one reason people give me for not actually becoming a healer, which makes it the number one killer of dreams. All I can say to this is, “Stop believing your own BS!”

If you truly want something, go get it! Don’t wait for others to give you permission, because they never will. It’s YOU who must make the choice, YOU who must take the first steps, and YOU who gets to show up and BE YOU.

Get out there and practise on anyone who will sit still long enough for you to work your magic. Don’t wait to be perfect or you will be waiting a long time, meanwhile your dreams will be rotting away. And most of all HAVE FUN! Healing is the most amazing thing to do in the whole world (IMHO) why make it serious or limited or boring? Have fun, my friends, because laughter will heal more than tears any day.

It is interesting to note that everything I have mentioned above as qualities of being a great healer are really elements of how we should function in our daily lives, not just during a healing session. It’s about becoming more authentic and connected with who we are. The more we BE this each and every day, the more that will contribute to our lives and doing what we love – which is why I said “it’s never about the modality, it’s about how you show up”.

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .

Are you sensitive to other people’s energy? Do you feel their emotions, sense things they do not say and feel drained after being around others?

Do you become easily overstimulated, feel isolated and like you don’t fit in?

These are some signs that you may be an empath or HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and according to studies this is true for about 20% of the population. (It is argued that there are differences between the two but that is not the purpose of this discussion so I’ll keep things general.)

While many see this as a curse and often ask me how to stop taking on other people’s energies and how to stop feeling so exhausted, it truly is a gift once you learn what is going on and how to manage it.

Empaths are not “over-sensitive” they simply have a gift they must learn how to use effectively

Empaths contribute to society with their creative, intuitive and heart-centred approach to life, and as consciousness evolves on the planet empaths are on the leading edge of that change, guiding humanity into a space of deeper compassion, vulnerability and awareness.

One of the most important pieces of advice I can offer here is to remind you of these qualities and to let you know that you are like a vast, enticing pool of healing waters for every lost soul and troubled being for miles. They sense your big heart and depth of compassion and they are drawn to it like moths to a flame.

Here’s the important part: If you do not take care of yourself they will drown you in your own pool!

They do not do this intentionally, but you will kindly take all of their stress and negativity out of the goodness of your heart because you want to help people and you hate to see them suffering. The more people you do this with the more you can start to become depressed, stress, heavy, overeat, over-emotional and so on.

If you take care of you, your empathic gifts will contribute to others in the most amazing ways. You will inspire and delight, you will shine your light and you will be a bridge to a deeper level of consciousness. The world is truly waiting for you.

Tips for Self-Care

  1. Vote with your Feet – when you feel yourself getting overstimulated leave the situation immediately. Go outside, walk in nature, leave the party, find a quiet space, go to bed, slow everything down so you can regain your balance. Enduring any energetically overwhelming situation is unkind to you.
  2. Use your voice – explain to friends and family (as much as possible) that you are sensitive to energy and sometimes need to leave social situations early. They will learn to accept this, or they will think you are weird. Either way, it’s not your problem.
  3. Trigger Points – you may have your own specific triggers that you are aware of and can minimise where possible. Here’s a few common ones: large crowds, anything noisy and chaotic, traffic, negative people, low blood sugar, overworking, harsh chemicals or environments, watching the news or violent movies, energy vampires (these people will seek you out for your delicious energy leaving you feeling like you feeling like all life has been sucked out of you).
  4. Create your own space – you need time out from all the crazy and this is imperative. Let your family know that even 15 minutes is required each day just for you. It may be outside at night in the moonlight, a comfortable and nurturing space in your home, among the plants in your garden where you can just sit and rejuvenate.
  5. It’s not yours – remember that the energies you pick up are not yours. You will think they are because they seem so real and immediate, however, 99% of all thoughts, feelings and emotions you are aware of are not yours. Remember this next time you feel sad or depressed and ask “Is this energy mine?” If you get a sense that it’s not yours simply ask the universe to return it to its source as you take a deep breath and let it go.
  6. Rescue Remedies – these are great for negative energy build ups when you have trouble getting away from an overwhelming situation
  • Lightening Hands – Imagine all the energy gathering in your hands then count to three, and flick your hands out in front as if trying to flick the energy from your hands. Do this about 5 to 10 times (use your intuition, you’ll know).
  • Conscious Breathing – take some slow deep breaths into your belly. Let everything else fall away and just be with your breath for a few minutes. Then allow the energies around you to sink into the earth. Mentally say “Release and dissipate” numerous times.
  1. Water Therapy – take a shower, go for a swim, or wash your hands. Water is soothing to your soul, it is healing and rejuvenating for you and will wash away a lot of stuck energies. You can even imagine the energies flowing down the drain as you enjoy the water.

Being an empath has been a bonus for me as a healer, I sense people’s feelings and emotions as if they were my own, which allows me to have a very intuitive sense of what my clients require and how best to help them. As a child this was overwhelming and I learned behaviours to stuff down all this awareness and pretend I didn’t notice it. Now that I have a better understanding of this I acknowledge that it is truly a gift and while it takes a little practice you can begin to honour this gift within you right away.

What magic do you have to share with the world that you have not yet acknowledged?

Are you putting YOU into what you Do?

Many people go about life in a haze of unconscious behaviour they have been entrained into since childhood: get up, go to work, get paid, go to sleep, rinse and repeat. Among all of this we fall in love, buy houses, have children, pay bills, go to the beach and myriad other things that make up our lives, but how many of us are truly happy and deeply fulfilled?

Now, it’s true that some people don’t question this. They just put one foot after the other and live in a glorious haze of unconsciousness until they die. Yet some of us seek something greater. We know deep down that we are here to serve others and make a difference in the world in our own unique way – whether we know what looks like or not.

I speak with many people who have this inner desire but don’t know how to bring that desire out and make it flourish. They doubt their abilities and knowledge. They find excuses to prevent themselves taking that first step, saying things like: I need a degree for that, I don’t have enough money to get started, I need to have a proper job to pay the bills and so on. There are others who procrastinate and distract themselves by being too busy with other things, continually starting something but never finishing it, or putting others before their own needs.

One of the simplest ways I have found to help people start making this transition into creating the life they desire from where they are now, without the overwhelm and panic that is sometimes associated with change is this:

Start putting YOU into what you do.

What does that mean? It means to start being mindful of everything you do each day – whether you are washing dishes, going to a job you hate, raising children or trying to find work. Slow down, become more conscious of your actions and the energy you BE in each moment.

You are an Infinite Being. You have choice about how you go about your life. If the big changes are too daunting right now just focus on BEING YOU and as you do that you are adding your unique energy to every part of your life. You will be amazed at how much this shifts your energy and starts to attract more magic into your life.

Try this now:

  • Take some slow deep breaths into your belly. Acknowledge that you are here in this reality, that you are present and willing to be YOU as much as possible throughout this day.
  • Expand your energy out to really get a sense of you, the Infinite Being. Feel your connection to all things and the vastness of who you really are.
  • Lower all your barriers, all the doubts and fears, judgements and expectations, all the resistance and reactions, just let it all drop away.
  • Ask: Universe, show me some magic and new possibilities today.

Start every day with this small practice and then revisit it as often as possible throughout the day – as you prepare breakfast, pay bills, drive to work, interact with others, clean the house, and so on. It’s so simple you can do it anywhere.

As you start to slow down and become more aware you come to see that everything you do is a choice, and even if you are doing something you don’t like right now, HOW you approach what you do is what matters. If you do it from a space of resentment, victimhood, powerlessness and thinking that you don’t have a choice then that is what you create more of in your life. If you start to be more present and acknowledge that this is just what you are choosing right now, you bring yourself out of that powerlessness and into a world of possibilities.

When you put YOU into what you do, you also contribute to the people around you. They will feel more at ease and be inspired by your energy. The more you do this each day, the more it becomes a habit, and the more you will start to attract new possibilities into your life that resonate with who you truly are. You will also feel a deeper sense of inner peace and fulfilment because you are acknowledging WHERE you are at right now (without judgement), you are acknowledging WHO you are, and you are acknowledging that you have CHOICE.

Go ahead; take the first breath right now. You’ve got this!

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .
