The Perception of Limitations

limits

As my business grows and evolves, I constantly make tweaks and changes to ensure that I am doing what I love and that everything flows smoothly energetically. When I noticed recently that there were many people struggling financially it caused me to review my pricing. Am I still congruent with my fees? Are they too much for people to afford? And when I asked for guidance on this, I received a clear and simple message from my guides: Don’t limit yourself because you see limitation in others.

It made me think about how we often do this in so many areas of our lives. We make ourselves less than we truly are. We forget that while there are many who struggle financially there are also many who have wealth and abundance. When we focus on what people lack, we lower our vibration to match them instead of being who we are and listening to our own awareness. The energy of us being who we are is what inspires others to rise up and go beyond their struggles and limitations.

This doesn’t mean that we can’t help other people, it means to be aware of when we compromise ourselves to accommodate them. When we help someone from a place of simply being a contribution without the need to rescue them, we can empower others to live more fulfilling and abundant lives.

Take a moment to consider where you limit yourself based on those around you. What would it take for you to change this? Are you willing to go beyond their limitations and shine your light in the world? The time is now to facilitate change on the planet. If you are reading this, you know that you came here for a reason. You came to inspire others, to lead the way to a new era of consciousness, and to bring about a world that lives in greater peace, awareness and harmony.

It takes each one of us as individuals contributing to the whole in our own unique way to create the changes we desire to bring about on this planet. To do that we must be true to ourselves and in so doing we will attract the people and circumstances that resonate with that higher vibration and become the beacon that guides and inspires others to do the same.

Shine your light and heed the wisdom of my guides: don’t limit yourself because you see limitation in others.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

You Didn’t Come Here to be Mediocre

dance4a

Are you a “spiritual seeker”? Do you wonder who you are and why you are here? Are you searching for a deeper meaning to life? Do you want to serve others and make a difference in the world?

Every day, I work with people who are just like you. Many are introverted, loners and energy sensitives who feel that they don’t fit in and struggle to find love and fulfilment. They see their friends having relationships, getting married, starting families, looking secure and happy – and on the surface it looks like perfection. Other people’s lives seem simpler, they don’t appear to have the inner turmoil, they don’t question everything like you do. Sounds like bliss, right?

Yet, if you are honest with yourself, you don’t really want what they have. You didn’t come here to be mediocre. You came to change consciousness on the planet. You are a divine expression of God/Creator and what you think you lack (that you see in people around you), cannot be found in another person or an acquisition. When you come to a place within where you have deep compassion for yourself, where you have walked through your own personal valley of shadows and have gained the awareness of who you are, will you know your truth. Then you create the space for deep soul connections, friendships that are honouring and supportive, and work that inspires your passion and joy.

The path is internal and the fulfilment you desire is but a breath away. It requires that you let go of the inner struggle and accept yourself as you are. It requires that you release the beliefs, thoughts, patterns, judgements and limitations that are not yours, and be you.

You may not feel that your role in life is as substantial or important as people like Mother Theresa or Nelson Mandela, and you may not receive awards and accolades for the challenges you overcome, but when you are ready to let go of the societal image of what your life should be like and start living the life you came here to live, you become a beacon of light to others shining out through the fabric of time and space and guiding humanity to a better place.

Never doubt the impact that one person can have. Never doubt your impact.

When you feel alone and disconnected from the world, remember that is an illusion. You are a divine being, at one with the entire universe. It’s impossible for you to truly be alone. Take a deep breath, expand your awareness out beyond your body and into the entire universe. Feel your connection to God/Creator, ask your guides and angelic team to come closer so you can sense them. Ask them to send you love and remind you why you are here. Breathe. Smile. Let your heart be filled as you walk your path each day. You are not alone.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

The Lie of Alcohol and Drugs

addiction

I woke up with a song in my head this morning, and this is unusual because I don’t listen to the radio or watch TV so when a song lands in my head it’s for a reason – it’s giving me a message. The song was Young, Wild and Free by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dog. The lyrics go like this:

So what we get drunk
So what we smoke weed
We’re just having fun
We don’t care who sees
So what we go out
That’s how it’s supposed to be
Living young and wild and free

As it played over and over in my head I pondered the song’s message and how it impacts the youth of today. The song suggests that being drunk or stoned is a path to freedom and fun, and it’s ok because you’re young, (and it’s one of many songs/movies with this theme). Our society certainly glorifies this type of behaviour – you’re just having fun with your mates, you’re a stick in the mud if you don’t join in, a few drinks won’t hurt, I just want to chill out for a while.

Is this behaviour really about freedom and fun or have we been sold an insidious lie?

I used alcohol and drugs in my teens and twenties to try to hide severe self-esteem issues, to block out the inner torment I felt and to avoid dealing with my emotions. I didn’t know this at the time, of course, I was just “living young and wild and free”. In truth, I was living “unconsciously”.

Through my healing work I have met many people with addictions and substance abuse issues and there are some common underlying patterns and beliefs associated with them. Here’s a few as an example:

Alcohol: Emotional insecurity often due to a love/hate relationship with your parents, perhaps loving them but hating something they’ve done. Alcohol is a way to self-medicate to deal with stress and problems. (This stress response comes from stressful childhood situations during the formative years when the brain is learning how to cope with stress and there are not healthy examples or support in the child’s environment, so they are forced to find their own coping methods which are often based on what they see around them.) There is often a sense of feeling devalued, undeserving and a fear of growing up and taking responsibility for yourself because being an adult seems painful.

Marijuana: Emotional insecurity once again, along with a desperate need to feel safe possibly stemming from emotional or physical abuse in childhood. Unhealthy environments feel familiar and become your comfort zone. Fear of success can be relevant here too, perhaps because past success came at a price or was not encouraged or supported.

Cocaine: A need for attention and to be in the limelight. There’s an underlying need to be acknowledged by your parents, you may have been ignored or “seen and not heard” as a child and you are still striving to perform for them. It can also be trying to escape the fact that life isn’t going the way you would like.

Crystal Meth: Suppressed anger, low self-esteem, lack of control related to violent tendencies whether real or imagined. You don’t want to listen to anyone else and this drug makes you feel unique and special. There’s a lack of self-love and love from others because you perceive love as destructive. Fear of being vulnerable, paranoid about how others perceive you.

This list is a generality to offer a glimpse of a few underlying patterns related to drug and alcohol abuse. There are many other factors including things like birth trauma, and ancestral and past life energies and even the way the brain has evolved to repeat past patterns so that it can avoid pain and induce pleasure. Plus, I have found that many addicts are super sensitive to the energies of people around them and can be like sponges for other people’s emotions which they find overwhelming to deal with.

All of this is playing out at a subconscious level so many addicts go about their lives completely unaware, and those who do attempt to change their circumstance often end up failing because they use the conscious mind to try to force themselves to abstain, so the subconscious programming kicks in and starts an internal war, in which the subconscious mind always wins!

So, do drugs and alcohol really make you young and wild and free? Or do they create an illusion of happiness under which lies a dark and seductive prison. They may have provided a coping mechanism that probably seemed like the only option at first, but it soon takes over and sucks every last shred of joy and happiness out of your life, diminishing who you are and laying waste to the true potential that you have to offer the world.

The good news is that these underlying patterns can be changed. I have changed them within myself and my clients. You can be young and wild and free in ways that are healthy and joyful and expand your heart and soul because you feel happy to be alive. You learn that you are a valuable contribution to society just through being you and shining your light in the world. You will find that your life has purpose and meaning and you are fully supported by the universe.

For those struggling with addiction, this may seem like a distant dream, but when you start to take responsibility for where you are right now and choose to become more conscious and aware you can start the process of healing and turn your life around.

Until next time, beautiful beings . . .

Are you an Empath?

empath

Are you sensitive to other people’s energy? Do you feel their emotions, sense things they do not say and feel drained after being around others?

Do you become easily overstimulated, feel isolated and like you don’t fit in?

These are some signs that you may be an empath or HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and according to studies this is true for about 20% of the population. (It is argued that there are differences between the two but that is not the purpose of this discussion so I’ll keep things general.)

While many see this as a curse and often ask me how to stop taking on other people’s energies and how to stop feeling so exhausted, it truly is a gift once you learn what is going on and how to manage it.

Empaths are not “over-sensitive” they simply have a gift they must learn how to use effectively

Empaths contribute to society with their creative, intuitive and heart-centred approach to life, and as consciousness evolves on the planet empaths are on the leading edge of that change, guiding humanity into a space of deeper compassion, vulnerability and awareness.

One of the most important pieces of advice I can offer here is to remind you of these qualities and to let you know that you are like a vast, enticing pool of healing waters for every lost soul and troubled being for miles. They sense your big heart and depth of compassion and they are drawn to it like moths to a flame.

Here’s the important part: If you do not take care of yourself they will drown you in your own pool!

They do not do this intentionally, but you will kindly take all of their stress and negativity out of the goodness of your heart because you want to help people and you hate to see them suffering. The more people you do this with the more you can start to become depressed, stress, heavy, overeat, over-emotional and so on.

If you take care of you, your empathic gifts will contribute to others in the most amazing ways. You will inspire and delight, you will shine your light and you will be a bridge to a deeper level of consciousness. The world is truly waiting for you.

Tips for Self-Care

  1. Vote with your Feet – when you feel yourself getting overstimulated leave the situation immediately. Go outside, walk in nature, leave the party, find a quiet space, go to bed, slow everything down so you can regain your balance. Enduring any energetically overwhelming situation is unkind to you.
  2. Use your voice – explain to friends and family (as much as possible) that you are sensitive to energy and sometimes need to leave social situations early. They will learn to accept this, or they will think you are weird. Either way, it’s not your problem.
  3. Trigger Points – you may have your own specific triggers that you are aware of and can minimise where possible. Here’s a few common ones: large crowds, anything noisy and chaotic, traffic, negative people, low blood sugar, overworking, harsh chemicals or environments, watching the news or violent movies, energy vampires (these people will seek you out for your delicious energy leaving you feeling like you feeling like all life has been sucked out of you).
  4. Create your own space – you need time out from all the crazy and this is imperative. Let your family know that even 15 minutes is required each day just for you. It may be outside at night in the moonlight, a comfortable and nurturing space in your home, among the plants in your garden where you can just sit and rejuvenate.
  5. It’s not yours – remember that the energies you pick up are not yours. You will think they are because they seem so real and immediate, however, 99% of all thoughts, feelings and emotions you are aware of are not yours. Remember this next time you feel sad or depressed and ask “Is this energy mine?” If you get a sense that it’s not yours simply ask the universe to return it to its source as you take a deep breath and let it go.
  6. Rescue Remedies – these are great for negative energy build ups when you have trouble getting away from an overwhelming situation
  • Lightening Hands – Imagine all the energy gathering in your hands then count to three, and flick your hands out in front as if trying to flick the energy from your hands. Do this about 5 to 10 times (use your intuition, you’ll know).
  • Conscious Breathing – take some slow deep breaths into your belly. Let everything else fall away and just be with your breath for a few minutes. Then allow the energies around you to sink into the earth. Mentally say “Release and dissipate” numerous times.
  1. Water Therapy – take a shower, go for a swim, or wash your hands. Water is soothing to your soul, it is healing and rejuvenating for you and will wash away a lot of stuck energies. You can even imagine the energies flowing down the drain as you enjoy the water.

Being an empath has been a bonus for me as a healer, I sense people’s feelings and emotions as if they were my own, which allows me to have a very intuitive sense of what my clients require and how best to help them. As a child this was overwhelming and I learned behaviours to stuff down all this awareness and pretend I didn’t notice it. Now that I have a better understanding of this I acknowledge that it is truly a gift and while it takes a little practice you can begin to honour this gift within you right away.

What magic do you have to share with the world that you have not yet acknowledged?

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .

“Victim” Doesn’t Look Good On You!

sad

Are you living the life you truly desire to live? Are you using your talents and abilities to serve others and fulfil yourself? Are you setting the world alight with your own personal brand of magic and brilliance?

Sadly, there are many who would not answer yes to those questions – perhaps you are one of them. Yet as Infinite Beings we are brilliant by our very nature, we ARE all things so we can never truly be in lack. We can never truly be afraid, or lost or stuck, yet so often this is how we live our lives.

Let me share a story about Jane, (not her real name). Jane was someone I knew from many years ago, someone who had a dream and set off on her own personal adventure to fulfil that dream. She was filled with adventure, inspiration and the desire to change the world in her own unique way. When I met up with Jane recently her energy had changed dramatically, it was heavy, somewhat melancholy and there was a level of stuckness to it that told me she had been sitting in this for quite a while and no longer saw the possibility of change. Her story spoke to the victimhood she was choosing and asking her a few questions brought up barriers of resistance. The vibrant woman I once knew was a mere shadow and quite frankly, “victim” didn’t look good on her.

Jane’s story is about all of us, how we shut down parts of ourselves to function in this reality. How we settle for less and put others before ourselves. How we give up because we can’t see a way out.  And how we lose sight of who we really are and the immense potential we have. Pretending that we are small, worthless, incapable and “victim” doesn’t look good on any of us. It may be a fun game for a while but is this truly why you are here? Or do you have the potential to change the world – just by being you?

Let me be honest here, I have been where Jane is now. In the past, I have allowed limitation and victimhood to have prevalence in my life and at times I have lost hope and felt so stuck I thought it would be easier not to be here. In these moments we must remember who we are:

We are Infinite Beings

We always have Choice

Change is always possible

I invite you to take a few slow, deep breaths and expand your energy out in all directions. See if you can touch the edges of you, the infinite being. Keep expanding out further and further, beyond the planet, beyond the universe. Lower all of your barriers and just be present with yourself.

You, the Infinite Being, are everywhere, you are all things. You may notice a sense of peace or expansion, whatever it is for you, as you do this. Keep expanding out more and more.

Are you really stuck? Are your problems really unsolvable? Could you choose something different now?

Dear Infinite Being, what choice can you make today that would change your reality with total ease?

Choose to create the change you desire. Wake up and choose it every day. Never give up, never give in, never quit. You are the director, writer and actor in your own personal play, only you can change the script. The universe is eagerly awaiting your next chapter . . . and besides, I know that “awesome” looks great on you!

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .

Are you Committed to your Life?

back door

Are you truly committed to your life or do you have “back doors” and “escape routes”? I know that sounds unusual, however, if we are not truly committed to being here and committed to life and living we create all types of dis-harmony in our lives.

When we have experienced pain and suffering, when we have endured trauma and life’s difficulties we often give up hope and think that leaving would be easier. For some leaving may mean death, for others it may mean walking out on something, it depends on the situation. Resorting to an escape route is a way to avoid dealing with what is going on below the surface and at some level believing that we don’t have choice or the ability to change it.

Let’s look at the situation of chronic pain. Those who have suffered intense continual pain will know that there are moments when you are in that pain when dying may seem like the best option. Especially if you have tried over and over to “fix” the problem and nothing seems to work.

In my own life, pain was an issue for me and when I became aware of thinking that “dying would be easier”, I closed all my back doors and made a commitment to myself and to my life. I decided that no matter what happened, no matter how much pain, I would stay and be present in my life and not use pain as an excuse to avoid living.

Interestingly, this changed the situation dramatically, because I was willing to do whatever it takes to be present in my life. I was no longer energetically standing with one foot out the door in case things got so bad that I needed to escape.

While I hadn’t realised I had been doing this, and I certainly didn’t want to die, this energy had been running in the background. This is understandable when you consider how many lifetimes we have had where dying or escaping may have actually been the best option, and I wonder how much of that energy we still function from today.

Are your back doors open? Are you looking for an escape to avoid fully living your life?

You can choose to change this. Simply imagine closing all your back doors and choosing to be present in your life. Choose that no matter what shows up you will commit to life and living whatever that means. The shift this creates is quite amazing.

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .

Is your Health your Hindrance?

Image

health

Does poor health hold you back from living a joyful, expansive life? Do you feel frustrated that an issue with your physical body can disrupt your life and it seems that there is no way to change it?

Sometimes we need reminding that we are Infinite Beings and that we create our own reality. This can be difficult to hear or admit when we are in extreme pain or suffering. We fall into victim mode which shuts down our awareness which causes us to function from a place of limitation.

From this limited space we buy into the story about our illness and start trying to find answers and solutions to fix the problem. Whether it comes from a doctor or alternative therapist, whether it’s information from this book or that, we are now embroiled in a game of make-believe that involves trying to fix something that we see as “wrong”.

If we remember that we are infinite beings and that our bodies respond to us in each and every moment, we can choose to create a different reality with our health.

  1. Your Health Issue Is Not A Wrongness

Recognise that your body is simply giving you information that you have been ignoring and there is nothing actually “wrong” with it. Instead of fighting against it not losing trust in it, start creating change by saying “hi” to your body and reconnecting with it each day.

  1. What does your body know?

Every time you have pain or think about your health issue ask your body: “Body, what awareness do you have that I am not acknowledging?” When you do this you are letting your body know that you are now listening and it can give you more information.

Don’t expect an answer to instantly drop into your lap, just be aware of your body and what it requires and follow your intuition. Asking this question creates a space for change.

  1. Asking questions

In past articles I have spoken about “being in the question” which is a tool from Access Consciousness. When we ask a question we invite the universe to respond, when we seek answers we send ourselves in circles trying to figure out the “right” answer. So ask the following questions daily (without expectation of what might show up):

  • What would it take to change this?
  • What else is possible?
  • Body, what are you aware of?
  • Body, what do you require today?

You’ll be amazed at your body’s wisdom.

  1. What’s your Superpower?

By focusing on the “story” of being ill, (the label we give the illness, the symptoms we endure and the time we spend trying to fix it or complaining about it) we often divert our attention from a capacity that we have that we are refusing to acknowledge. When we suppress our unique capacities our body sends us signals to let us know that we are not being all that we could be. We are being finite instead of infinite. We are being limited instead of expansive. We are being victims instead of creators.

All of this is a way to shut down our full awareness because at some point in our lives it seemed unsafe or inappropriate to be that in this reality. As children we were often taught to be seen and not heard, or we were too exuberant and joyful for a parent who suffered from depression, or we experienced abuse or hardship in some way, so we learned to minimise ourselves.

  1. New Focus

Take your focus from the “story” of your health issue and start to ask questions to create change in your life: “What capacities do I have that if I would acknowledge them would create the change I desire in my life?”

Continue to ask the questions in this article as often as possible to create change, to gain more awareness about you, your body and your life. Your health can change from an issue that hinders you to awareness that guides you.

Until next time, Beautiful Beings . . .
